The Challenge

Sunweb Group sells millions of package holidays yearly through brands like Sunweb, Eliza Was Here, and GOGO. The company was replacing its entire digital stack with a greenfield platform. There was no architecture, no CI/CD, no test strategy, and a team of 40+ developers that needed to ship features from day one while the foundation was still being laid.

My Contribution

Architected the greenfield platform using TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Express, defining folder structure, data-fetching patterns, and shared component conventions that the wider team adopted without friction. Set up the full CI/CD pipeline on GitHub Actions with preview deployments, automated linting, and staged rollouts.

Designed and implemented the E2E testing strategy with Cypress, covering the entire booking funnel from search to payment confirmation. Ran weekly knowledge-sharing sessions and embedded in multiple squads to unblock architectural decisions.
