Frontend Staff Engineer
The Challenge
Sunweb Group is one of Europe's largest travel companies, offering package holidays through multiple brands. The company was investing in a next-generation web platform to modernize its digital experience. This greenfield initiative needed a solid technical foundation from architecture and tooling to testing and deployment, while also upskilling the development team.
My Contribution
Architected and built the greenfield web applications using TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Express, establishing patterns and conventions that the wider team adopted. Set up the complete build and deployment pipeline, enabling continuous delivery to production.
Designed and implemented the E2E testing strategy using Cypress, covering critical booking flows and ensuring confidence in releases. Mentored developers across multiple teams, conducting code reviews and running knowledge-sharing sessions on modern frontend practices.
